Today’s discussion is focused on a single macronutrient that’s been mentioned more than once on HIB and that is protein. While I think it’s important to cover my bases and give a few reasons WHY protein is so important to our health, my real intention behind this post is to offer practical advice on HOW to fit more protein into your day, provide quality protein source recommendations, and offer a few alternative food options to help you meet your protein goals.
It’s an unfortunate fact that most individuals don’t consume an adequate amount of protein to meet their daily needs. One thing I’ve noticed is a lack of knowledge in knowing which foods contain a good amount of high-quality protein and which don’t. If you lack knowledge, I assure you won’t after reading this post and even if you have a fairly good idea of the importance of protein, there’s plenty to take from what’s to come. Before I go any further, let’s start with the why.
