A new series on the topic of gut health kicked off a few weeks ago on Healthy in Bulk. The first post dove deep on the gut microbiome with ways to support it through incorporating probiotic-rich foods, followed by a post on the importance of eating a diet sufficient in fiber from a wide variety of foods.
I prefer discussing things we can add that benefit our health and well-being; however, today’s discussion will be a little different. Instead of focusing on the things we should do (like eating probiotic-rich foods & fiber), this post will be all about the things we should NOT do if we want to avoid poor gut health.
I decided to do this for two reasons. First, there is substantial evidence regarding a plethora of behaviors that significantly harm the health of our gut. And, second, many people find it easier to eliminate rather than add things to their routine… and let me tell you, after reading what’s to come, there will be some things you should consider eliminating.
