Black Friday deals – Fitness edition:
There’s no better time to load up on health-focused stuff than Black Friday. It’s also a great time to purchase meaningful gifts for your loved ones at a fraction of the cost… even if they sense you’re trying to hint at something! Skip throwing elbows for the last Xbox console and check out these five deals for a well-spent Black Friday.
Supplements – Bodybuilding.com (35% off)
Stock up your supplement cabinet with high-quality whey protein, creatine, and more at Bodybuilding.com! Remember, creatine is for EVERYONE! Just 5 grams per day has been shown in countless research studies to promote significant cognitive and muscular benefits. Read a previous article on HIB about creatine benefits linked here.
Kitchen Appliances – Air Fryer (60% off)
Apart from my mother and a select few mentors, there isn’t much that has changed my life for the better more than an air fryer. Joking aside, an air fryer makes for an incredibly efficient way to cook food without the excessive oil that traditional deep frying comes with. My air fryer gets the bulk of its use from roasting vegetables, sweet potatoes, and chicken but the options are endless!
Fitness Equipment – Dick’s Sporting Goods
It’s a shame how expensive quality fitness equipment is – especially after COVID with the surge of individuals purposing home gyms. Now is the time of year to stock up on gear at a lower price point! Dick’s Sporting Goods is currently running sales on Olympic weight trainings sets, dumbbells, Peloton bikes, treadmills, and much more. Even if you have a gym membership, owning a pair of dumbbells for home-use is a great way to incorporate strength work throughout your work-from-home day or when the gym doesn’t fit your schedule.
Wearable Devices – Apple Watch, Fitbit, Garmin
Although it’s not a must have, owning a wearable device to track your workouts and heart rate is a valuable tool. Not only can it enhance your motivation, but it also ensures you’re maintaining certain heart rate zones – especially during those zone 2 workouts where you want to stay within 60-70% of your maximum heart rate. I benefit from an Apple Watch but there are less expensive ones (Fitbit) or more data-robust brands such as the Garmin watch.
& Beyond – Squatty Potty ($20)
Since we’re in the middle of a series on improving gut health, incorporating the Squatty Potty into this list is undeniably fitting. A Squatty Potty is a small platform you put your feet on while using the facility to do the #2. When you elevate your legs, your colon gets into a more ideal position to release all that it has stored up without any straining. I can attest, it works wonders.
That’s it for this week’s 4-Minute Friday. Happy shopping!
