Hello and welcome to 4-Minute Friday where I share, in four minutes or less, the latest things I’m doing to enhance my health, save money, and make day-to-day life easier and more enjoyable.

New Coffee Methodology:
At this point, you all know that I enjoy coffee.
To my own detriment sometimes.
And yes, while I do have a caffeine detox penciled (very lightly) into my schedule (for those that are keeping track)… it’s going to have to wait.
A couple years ago, there was an ‘instant espresso machine’ craze – a popular brand being the Nespresso.
I thought about purchasing one but held off.
However, our apartment recently acquired a Nespresso, and I don’t know how I’ve lived without it.
Pop a pod in, push one button and out comes an incredibly tasting double shot of espresso (~150mg caffeine) in under 20 seconds.
Efficiency at its finest.
While I do enjoy it straight, I often throw in a splash of milk and honey or maple syrup which makes for quite the concoction.
If you are a fan of lattes, americanos, cappuccinos, or anything of that sort… this machine is an incredibly cost-efficient way to make “specialty drinks” without swinging by Starbucks every morning on your way to the office!
And if you need that extra jolt to get your morning workout routine established as discussed earlier this week, the Nespresso machine will become your best friend.
Spoken from experience.
Book I’m Enjoying:
Open by Andre Agassi.
An incredible autobiography recommended to me by my good friend Alex – this book will take you through Andre’s fascinating journey in becoming one of the most well-known and accomplished tennis athletes of all time.
It’s a journey full of internal and external conflicts, setbacks, family hardship, drug issues, and much more.
While us normal folk often have a one-sided view of famous athletes based on what we see/hear on social media and TV, there’s nearly always much more to their story.
We envy the fancy cars, multiple houses, breathtaking vacations, and luxurious lifestyles.
But we miss the thousands upon thousands of hours they put into their craft to get to that point. While often carrying the weight of grueling upbringings and internal struggles that we can’t see on the surface.
As Chris Williamson exclaims, we want what these individuals have but we have no desire to do the things required to get there.
It’s been an eye-opening read and it’s motivated me to add autobiographies to my genre list moving forward.
I’ve read a few and each one continues to reveal a similar message – even the most successful people out there battle internal struggles and setbacks. They’re a part of the journey of life for everyone!
If you have a favorite autobiography you recommend, send it my way!
How I’m Getting My News:
The 1440 Daily Digest.
While I understand the importance of staying up to date with all that’s going on in the world, I despise watching and reading the news.
I’ve continuously said that I just need someone to give me a five-minute breakdown every day on the latest happenings in the world and then I can feel informed and go on my way.
That is exactly what the 1440 Daily Digest does.
It’s a zero-cost, unbiased daily newsletter that dives into the latest politics, sports, entertainment, world conflicts, and beyond.
You get a foundational knowledge base of current world affairs without getting sucked into and worked up by the plethora of news outlets and agendas they plague us with.
Simply open the email (even if it’s on the pot in the morning), get a quick rundown, and move on with your day.
Couldn’t recommend it more highly!

What else?
Saturdays and Sundays are now PACKED with football. If you’re prone to being permanently planted on the couch once the games begin, make sure you get outside EARLY for some activity to earn that lounging!
HIB long-format posts will be taking a pause until after I complete the Chicago half-marathon. 4-Minute Friday’s will continue as usual!
Life gets better after a double shot of espresso.
If you enjoy this weekly bite of information, please share it with a coworker, friend, and/or family member!
